Bauer's been out 8 months now!

welp this week was pretty good. Elder Prince is way cool I like him a lot we are like best friends, I'm so glad I got a good comp i was nervous when I heard he was coming out for the 2nd time but he is ready to work. He is from Hurricane Utah, pretty much right by the border of Arizona so that's cool, I don't consider him a U-tard haha anyway yeah that's weird that people say I look bigger cuz I haven't gained any weight. Being a district leader is overrated all I do is talk on the phone and give a couple of trainings to my district.That's all it really is, is that I'm in charge of my district which is like 10 missionaries. I cant believe Ross and Trevor are gonna be home soon, that is so crazy to think about. If time keeps going this fast I'll be home in no time. So how is the missionary work going in R.V.? Its weird cuz when I was home I never even thought about it but now that I'm out here I'm just curious as to how the work is going. well everything is going good here I really liked your quote! A scripture we use a lot out here is Amos 3:7. I think if we truly understood the role of a prophet and what he is we would do everything we could to obey everything that he says. I often ask ppl we teach why wouldn't God call a prophet in these days? Look at the world today. This is a time when the world needs a prophet the most! I'm so grateful for a prophet in these days! I am also grateful that we have proof. The Book Of Mormon is here that we may know that God is the same yesterday today and forever and has called a prophet in these last days just as days of old. Welp I love ya'll and I'll talk with ya next week! nice!!!! that is way cool about Evan haha I'm so happy that He, Tell & Ethan are going out! We did a lot of tracting and contacting and found some pretty good ppl to teach. so the other day i was looking at a calender and Ive been out 8 months..... talk about the fastest 8 months of my life! its scary how fast the time goes out here. its going way to fast. sorry i haven't got any pictures i still have to get a charger for my camera. it actually has kinda cooled down here. its been like 97 with 97% humidity so its not as bad as it has been. I've been pretty sick the last couple of days with a cold... don't ask me how you get a cold in 97 degree weather. But Sister Averett (aka Goey) is doctoring me up. All her grand kids call her Goey so she told us to start calling her that. so when i tell ppl I played football out here they just look at me and laugh cuz I'm so small haha.... so we just cover one ward and all the young women are in love with Elder Prince hahaha its way funny. everything is going really good here. I'm just havivg trouble getting this area up and running. I feel like a crappy missionary but I'm tryin my best. I know that we will be blessed for our work here pretty soon. We are going to set some baptism dates with a couple of our investigators this week if the spirit directs to do so, I hope all goes as planned. Well I love ya'll and I have a p day to enjoy so I will talk with ya next week

Bauer's six month letter

It's miricles like the ones I have seen these that will make you realize the lords hand in missionary work. I know without a doubt that he softens hearts. I know now more than ever that our savoir Jesus Christ lives. Daily scripture study has helped me so much!!! especially down here in the south where no matter what door you knock on they are going to know the bible front to back. I guess I was forced to know the bible better. I prayerfully study the Bible as well as the Book Of Mormon everyday and my knowledge has increased tremendously. Together they are the fullness of the everlasting gospel and can bless the lives of others. Preach My Gospel is an awesome book! I love it. Every family should have a copy in their home. Recently I have been studying Ch. 6 which is Christ like attributes. It is one of my favorite chapters. I know that as we strive to be Christ like we willl be blessed, we will have more courage to share this message of the restoration with everybody. As I have studied Preach my Gospel I have realized how important the message of the restored gospel is. Jesus Christ himself has again built up the foundation of HIS church and called a prophet and apostles in these days. I know this to be true because of the proof he left us with, the Book Of Mormon. the Book of Mormom is evidence that Joseph Smith was called to restore his church after years of apostacy. I know this church is true. . .I wouldn't be 2000 miles away from my family here in Alabama if I didnt know it was true. I love ya'll

Que tal? como estas? well my new area is straight up country!! seriously I'm in the back woods now haha its pretty fun except for the 5 mile bike ride i have to take just to get into town. when we don't have the car we average about 20 to 25 miles a day on the bikes. elder Dorr and i get along good he is so funny. yes mam i did get your letters and thank you so much!! so the sad thing about my area is that there was some disobedient Elders here before us so there is nothing going on at all!! we are teaching a couple of church's tho yes church's haha so that's cool. but really that's it there is nothing going on here so we are gonna get this area started again! that is so awesome about dads new treatment! i know that it is working only bcuz the love the Savior has for us. he truly does answer our prayers and is ALWAYS looking out for us. i know that if we trust in him with all our heart he will direct our paths and answer our prayers, the Lords hand is in our family lives everyday and we must NOT forget to thank him for watching over us. I'm so happy for the good news it makes me feel better! I'm so pumped for Tell that is awesome! i also sent you a card so be looking for that! well I'm glad to here things are going well! i know this is short but ill tell you a lot on the phone. thank Brooks for the letter and that i will write more next week and answer his questions when i have a little more time.

From: "Bauer brown" : Wednesday, April 1, 2009 Hey family what is up!! sorry for how short my letter was last week, I didn't want to tell you then but I was so sick. I was puking my guts out and I could hardly type. It was really crazy, Elder Coats had the same thing and we thought we were good enough to go e-mail but I got really sick as I was typing so I had to cut it short. It only lasted for one day and that day just so happened to be P-day. So we were in bed all day and throwing up every 20 minutes. but we are all good now so don't worry one bit. our investigator did heal and was baptised on Saturday so that is really cool. we have a few more who are getting close. So just the other day i had another cool thing happen, as we were walking down the road you will never believe what I saw! No not a freak in armadillo but a freak-in possum! yeah it was dead but still pretty cool, I was a little hesitant walking up to it because I know their tricks, Ive seen the discovery channel, they play dead and then when you get close they attack. haha so after that we went and taught this guy named Richard and he is really cool and loves listening to our message. I don't know if I told you this but last weekend Gladys Knight and her choir from Las Vegas came to Bessemer and we got to take our investigators to see her. She sang and shared her testimony it was really good, and now we have a lot of people calling us because they want to know what Gladys Knight believes haha. Well today I'm going to go shopping because we were so sick last week we couldn't go so we were without food for the week, but don't worry Elder Coats and I are both Eagle Scouts and we set up some mouse traps around the house and caught our food haha just mess in but that's almost what it came down to, plus it was the end of the month so I was low on money and I'm trying not to use the money from back home as much as I can so tell me if im using to much of it. well family it sounds like everything is going good back home. its going good here!! I gotta go love ya!!

The armadillo

So the other night we almost had a tornado here, it was a crazy storm but it didnt come through Pratville. a few miles a way there was baseball sized hail though. its been pretty cold here but the next day it will be nice and warm i dont really understand it. so the other day we were tracting in the backwoods and you would never believe what i saw!!!! a freakin armadillo!! it was dead in the road but it was still cool. im not even sure if im in the united states any more, we ran into this guy with absolutley no teeth and i coudnt understand a word he was sayin... the little bit i did understand is that he is 64 years old and loves to play x-box, his favorite game is Zelda warrior princess. we have some pretty wierd things happen to us while we are tractin way back in the sticks.

We are so lucky to have the true restored gospel in our lives. I see people who don’t have it and it is so sad. How blessed are we to have a prophet of god on the earth today? It’s all because of Joseph Smith, a man who did more for the salvation of our souls besides Jesus Christ himself. THIS CHURCH IS TRUE!! It’s amazing the way it turns lives around. I don’t see how people think this church is so bad when it does so much good for people. We are so blessed with the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation. Well all is good here!! We are teaching a kid named Kalob and he is way interested so pray for him that when he reads and prays to know if the B.O.M. is true he will receive his answer. Love ya'll

hey fam whats up sounds like things are going good back home. Tuscaloosa is awesome!! we live like a 2 blocks away from campus and yes i do have to keep my eyes closed. i have already ate the ribs at dreamland and they were good but still nothing like texas road house. we are going to have a baptism this saturday. his name is Tony he is a cool guy. it scared us tho bcuz we couldnt get a hold of him for a long time then we found out he was in the hospita; bcuz he got shot and robbed but he is going to be ok. its pretty scary here in the ghetto, we were tracting yesterday and there was a sign at this one house that said "warning: the owner of this house will answer the door with a gun so dont knock if you are unexpected" so we knocked but no one answered. so elder Coats wrecked so hard on his bike last night im talkin he supermanned it over the hanndle bars. it was funny well i better get going i lve you and miss you. peace
